Hi, It’s Mac here.
Recently, I read a book called Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff.
In it, there was a line that said:
“By taking care of plants, you can learn the meaning of unconditional love.”
That really stuck with me. The author wrote something like this:
“Plants are a perfect way to learn unconditional love.
Unlike animals, they don’t make a mess or bark in the middle of the night 😂
Over time, the kindness and care you give them will naturally extend to others as well.”
That made sense to me.
Owning a pet feels like a big responsibility right now,
but plants — that’s something I can start with.
So I decided to bring a little greenery into my home.
A visit to Ozaki Flower Park 🌴
The other day, I went to Ozaki Flower Park in Nerima, Tokyo.
Walking inside felt like stepping into a small jungle —

so many kinds of plants everywhere, it was pure joy just to look around.
Among them, one caught my eye: Tillandsia, also known as air plants.
No soil, no pots.
A plant that’s perfect for minimalists!
They’re cute, simple, and even bloom tiny flowers.
I imagined hanging them near the window —
a small but stylish touch of green for my room.
Two little Tillandsias 🌱
Since one looked a bit lonely, I brought home two different types:

- Ionantha – round and plump, with rare white flowers.
- Stricta – slender and delicate, with purple blossoms.
I twisted some wire from a 100-yen shop and hung them by the window.
Just like that, my room looked instantly a bit more stylish 😏
The calm that little greens bring 🕊️
Every morning, I mist them with water and soak them from time to time.
Watching them slowly grow feels refreshing and new.
It really does feel like learning how to care for something without expecting anything in return.
Taking care of plants has this calming effect —
and maybe, just maybe, it helps me be a little kinder to the people around me too.
If that’s what a bit of green can do,
then life already feels a little richer.
